Introduction of BICEPS Rating System to stimulate more sustainable ocean shipping 

(BICEPS: Boosting Initiatives for Collaborative Emission-reduction with the Power of Shippers)

The BICEPS Network, a joint initiative of shippers to leverage forces to stimulate more sustainable shipping, introduces the BICEPS Rating System. The shippers will apply the BICEPS Rating System, an online dynamic application that includes five sustainability themes, in their global procurement of ocean freight container transport. The actual sustainability performance of ocean freight carriers will be included as a factor in the selection of ocean carriers for their shipping volumes by the shippers. The rating system has been developed to give full transparency on the actual and relative sustainability performance of shipping lines and allows shippers to include this as a clear differentiator within their selection process.

Pure Birds helpt ook in de bouw om te komen tot een eerlijke en gelijkwaardige keten, die meer waarde toevoegt. Hierin werkt Pure Birds samen met Bouwend Nederland en Uneto VNI om showcases te ontwikkelen met koplopers in de keten. Zo is afgelopen tijd een vernieuwend selectieproces opgezet voor woningbouwcorporatie Wonen Wateringen waarin ketensamenwerking beloond wordt, en niet laagste prijs het uitgangspunt is.

Middels een 'Construction Business Boost' tussen de ketenpartijen wordt impuls gegeven, met als doel:

- organiseren van een actieve dialoog om de klantvraag beter te begrijpen tussen opdrachtgever en opdrachtgevers

- optimalere samenwerking in de keten te creëren om gezamenlijk betere en duurzame toegevoegde waarden te leveren 

Start of “Fit-to-Purpose” approach in Agro-food Value Chains

The Fit-to-Purpose programme is an initiative by Pure Birds and the Postharvest Network and is supported by the Food & Business Knowledge Platform. The objective of this programme is to stimulate entrepreneurship and innovation of Dutch companies in agro-food value chains in developing countries. The approach is aimed at the development of simple and sustainable solutions that have the potential to create new market opportunities for companies ranging from large multinationals to SMEs and start-ups.
